Bellagio Implementation Meeting

The Lancet Commission on Global Surgery Bellagio Implementation Meeting was held February 9-13, 2015 at the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center in Bellagio, Italy on Lake Como.

The purpose of this meeting was to develop a plan to support implementation of the Commission’s recommendations in order to generate progress towards universal access to safe, affordable surgical and anesthesia care when needed. We convened a small group of experts from around the world who have experience in generating health improvements at local, national and global levels in order to develop plans on how to:

• Engage with stakeholders at local, national and global levels
• Support policy change to improved delivery of surgical and anesthesia care
• Support funding generation to improve delivery of surgical and anesthesia care
